Maybe you’ve noticed that millennials have been getting some heat on social media lately. I won’t go into it, but I did want to share one simple thing you can do in your practice to help reach this age group.
You have to know this about millennials – they want connection. With social media, and 85% of them having a smart phone, they’ve come to expect the ability to connect 24/7. Smart businesses realize this and have started getting creative in how they interact with their customers. Personal responses on Twitter, fun apps, hashtags, etc….it’s all in an effort to connect with the millennials.
Businesses can’t stay in their white castle or behind closed doors anymore. People want authenticity and vulnerability. This doesn’t mean you share everything, but you have to share something.
A couple years ago, our practice was introduced to the idea of Human Cards. A patient invented the concept in order to help businesses build connections. We implemented it in our practice and we LOVE it.
A Human Card is something we give patients in addition to our business card. A business card obviously talks about your business. But it doesn’t let people connect with you.
A Human Card talks about you as a human. Your strengths, your weaknesses, your goals. What you’re passionate about. What get you in trouble. What your purpose is on the planet. What you want for your family.
The Human Cards are instant connection. They’re also instant accountability. If your Human Card says that you want people to feel joyful and inspired when they talk to you, you’re more aware of what you talk about in conversations.
If you get off the “business pedestal” it means you’re allowed to be in growth, just like everyone else. It means you get to walk alongside patients and invite them into this amazing, healthy chiropractic lifestyle. It’s forever expanding and growing and we’re constantly learning new things.
Isn’t it fun to be human?
